"The More Things Change" is most decidedly worth your reading time.
It's one of those turtles-turn-human stories...which I wouldn't
recommend ordinarily...(projection, again, which I abhor)
but her raison d'etre, rationale, the 'why', the "huh?" was so
very carefully and logically constructed that I was entranced
in spite of my self.. suspension of disbelief was total!
And, of course, her prose is almost faultless...(a few missteps
attributable merely to typos) truly a joy to read!

Also, vacanthouses just posted (9-18)a beautifully logical
tidbit...based on her knowledge of the subject matter...(she claims to be
a biologist) It's one of those Donatello/April things...but with a
twist....and if you can recall the shape of DNA, you just might

for those wherein an OC reacts with some degree of equanimity to the
appearance of non-human characters. I am thinking that, surely, among

Grandson "convinced"(such a mild word) that with a few bits of

an Urban Explorers venture into the NYC sewer system.

of non-biodegrading matter was widespread.
The consulting herpetologists were positive that such

It contains a very readable section on that horrible creature..

Basically, the creature stands in place of a letter that is not there.
(Ahem..This recommendation is for those writers who seem to be a bit
confused about the difference between a certain possessive pronoun
and the past participle of a conjugated verb.)
to wit: ITS is the possessive form of the neuter pronoun....and
IT'S is a contraction of the verb form IT IS....
Horribly, I have run across this error in the writing of even
some of the very best creators.

Gratified as I am to note that the T-fen composing fanfiction have
begun to realize the 'endangered' status of the species..

All quite acceptable, of course, as long as the quality of the prose
composition retains the level required by this Kappa.
One of those solutions, however, ventures into that
social science of which I can claim some familiarity.
My major course of study(4 yrs) was ANTHROPOLOGY.
Therefore, I take as my text the anthropologist's definition of
CULTURE--from Kroeber:

So you can understand why I have become profoundly
irritated by a couple of recently posted stories which

the kitchen to learn the joys of cooking--oy vey!)
