Kappa Tracks

"A story is made up of words and characters. Are the words well chosen and do the characters live? All the rest is literary gossip."

My six decade love affair with the English language compels me to offer a list of authors whose work meets my critical standards. The single criterion operant is the quality of the prose as composed by the writers. I have made no discrimination whatsoever as to subject matter, theme, or plot.

Therefore be warned!

A great many of the works here listed may involve themes or subjects repugnant to some readers. I can only advise that if a particular story cannot be stomached, go on to the next; you will find at least a few to be to your taste.

a gripe...

An otherwise competent writer is setting the Kappa's
fangs on edge...with a descent into a bit of ear-spelling
that could be corrected by a moment's recourse to a REAL
dictionary..instead of reliance on that dad-blasted Spell-check!
*************
(This could be an addition to that list of homophones)
************
To wit: in reference to language to which there might arise objections...
i.e. "lacking in delicacy or refinement"
the orthography is COARSE ....
To see it spelled C O U R S E...
(over and over again)*
is conducive to one of those mental hiccups that
occasionally affect this poor Kappa to the point
of discourtesy.
* occurring in this writer's summaries when warning is
given that the stories will contain words deemed...
boorish, churlish, crass, crude, earthy, gross, rough, rude,
uncouth and/or vulgar.
**************
And no, the main character(POV)is not always....
who you might think...
