My six decade love affair with the English language compels me to offer a list of authors whose work meets my critical standards. The single criterion operant is the quality of the prose as composed by the writers. I have made no discrimination whatsoever as to subject matter, theme, or plot.

Therefore be warned!

A great many of the works here listed may involve themes or subjects repugnant to some readers. I can only advise that if a particular story cannot be stomached, go on to the next; you will find at least a few to be to your taste.

Good question! The fandom is growing over at Deviant Art but never seems to be anything overly new or exciting on ff.net

I ventured here looking for the famous Kappa's list of recommended stories, only to find this little message. So sad, but so true.

I've started tentatively re-entering the world of ficcing, but I'm a far cry from the talented greats of '07 and '08. Kay Cricketed, Lucy Too, JennaLouise, princessebee... I'm sitting here screaming right there with you. For the last two years there hasn't even been enough goodfic to justify another fanfiction competition in my opinion. I'm so disappointed.

Keep searching, Kappa! There's bound to be some diamonds in the rough somewhere!
