Kappa Tracks

"A story is made up of words and characters. Are the words well chosen and do the characters live? All the rest is literary gossip."

My six decade love affair with the English language compels me to offer a list of authors whose work meets my critical standards. The single criterion operant is the quality of the prose as composed by the writers. I have made no discrimination whatsoever as to subject matter, theme, or plot.

Therefore be warned!

A great many of the works here listed may involve themes or subjects repugnant to some readers. I can only advise that if a particular story cannot be stomached, go on to the next; you will find at least a few to be to your taste.

Horrors!

Someone has discovered this THING!
It was just a way to keep track(sic) of those
finely constructed fictions that I most enjoyed
on the ffnet.
It was like this--30 years of working in a library
predisposed me to making lists of authors/titles
on 3x5 file cards. So I had these two ersatz
shoe boxes of cards...I had gone through ALL
the 'pages' of TMNT on the ff site(from '99 to
abt. 5-06) & made a record of names/titles.
(Must have had close to 1000 cards..)
My son, who at the time worked for Yahoo,
discovered this very private listing of 'faves'
and information junkie that he is, INSISTED
that this record be SHARED!!
He constructed this thing he said was a 'blog'--
and here we are...

Hee, as well. I must admit I found this blog some time ago and returned more than once, but never interacted with you because it seemed to me like a personal, private project.

Now that GreenWillow decided to say hello I had to do the same, especially as I'm doing it with my secon penname, ghostwriter (weird is it not? another GW). I'm one of the authors here, with my original penname (not saying which one), and co-authored both of littlefurryguy's fics.

I tried to do some kind of TMNT links' archive in the past, based on the cliche used (death!fic, girlfriend!fic, fifth-turtle!fic, etc). Sadly, my mind overloaded ant it was never finished.

So, basically, this is me sending you a virtual hug. You are not alone in the TMNT's love, as it should be obvious in the number of terrific fics around. And, in fact, seing how well you do analize them, you should probably take a tour to the Stealthy Stories Forums, as the 2006 Fanfiction Competition is taking place.

Great work, once more time. I wish I had your patience =). And, by the way, if you like to read meta (analysis), kc_anathema (at LiveJournal, also known as Goblin Cat KC at FanFictionNet) has some terrific essays on each of the turtles; and there's a nice post on the TMNT universe at the crack_van, also at LiveJournal.

Sorry for the long comment. Much love (and say thanks to your son from my part. He was very much right).
